He worked as a visiting scholar at the Chinese Department of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University, Thailand and Department of Eastern Asian Studies of Dickinson College, USA. His works include Concise and Practical Chinese Philology, Chinese Characters: A Systematic Approach, and tens of papers.
