This book is in the first volume of “A Series of Books by the Scholars of BLCU”, collecting Zhao Jinming’s 39 papers published since 2005 with the parts of “the research of international Chinese language education” and “the comments on the research of international Chinese language education” included. The first part, the research of international Chinese language education, includes 18 papers and covers issues such as the typology of disparity sentences, errors of disparity sentences, teaching phonetic, teaching vocabulary, teaching Chinese characters, the education ideas and models of TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language), summary of pedagogy on TCFL, the compilation of TCFL textbooks, discipline system of the international Chinese language education. The second part, with 21 reviews on the research of international Chinese education included, encompasses the prefaces for the relevant books in this field, reflecting the latest developments on TCFL in China.
Zhao Jinming, graduated from Beijing University with a major in Chinese language in 1964, is a professor of BLCU supervising the PhD candidates majoring in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. Being an esteemed education expert in TCFL, he is the President of the Research Center of the Development and Application of Chinese Language Resources, Secretary of Chinese Linguistic Society and was the Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Teaching in the World. His research areas are Chinese grammar in the contemporary and modern times.
